I have always enjoyed all makes and models of cars going back to my High School days. I entered my first car show at the young age of 15. It was the Car Quest 500 World of Wheels, held at the Indianapolis Convention Center in 1979. My father and I showed our cars several years before we got involved in NHRA Drag Racing. After my father passed away in 2003, I decided that I was going to retire from drag racing and start showing my father's prized possession, his 1967 Shelby GT500, on his behalf. After attending some local shows for a couple of years, I decided that I wanted to host a car show of my own.

I have accomplished my two goals since I started this event.

  • To have over 500 participants
  • To host the Largest One Day car show in Indiana

I feel that there are three reasons why this event has been so successful.

  1. Our collector car owners who bring their beautiful vehicles each year for everyone to admire and enjoy. Thank you.
  2. My sponsors who continue to give me their support with financial donations, and product that is giving away.
  3. My phenomenal volunteer staff, which is made up of both family and friends. They spend hours working not only at the event, but in other ways leading up to the event.

I personally put my heart and soul into this event each year to try and make it the best that it can be. It’s a lot of work, but I do it because I enjoy this hobby and in the memory of my father.

Sincerely,
Garry J. Gilbert
